The plot, split

up into six chapters (which required

four

hours total in order to complete),

begins with

Nite Owl and Rorschach looking at

on the

riot at Sing Sing, and focuses on

them investigating back-alleys, docks, sewers, and construction sites looking

for Underboss. The storytelling gets

to be a heavy boost from both a

good script by Len Wein (co-creator of Swamp Thing

and Wolverine), along with the

voicework of Jackie Earle Haley and Patrick Wilson (Rorschach and Nite Owl respectively).

Overall, it's

and sounds like

a significant

side-story.

The

gameplay just about

follows the classic 1990s beat-em-up formula: Nite Owl and Rorschach walk forward

several

feet. They encounter surly fellows. They pummelled

said fellows. They advance. They find more fellows that prevent advancement. Repeat

until level-ending cutscene. Occasionally, you've

branching moments, including

Nite Owl grappling away

to the

top of the a building while Rorschach skulks around

below, these

essentially become scenarios where

you fight X quantity

of goons, but alone.

While

both Rorschach and Nite Owl punch and kick their foes a

whole lot, they

do get

their own "feel". The thirteen-years-younger,

less pudgy Nite Owl fights just like

a disciplined martial artist. He excels at taking

down an individual

foe relatively fast. Furthermore, his special abilities are

based on his owl suit, ultimately

causing such

things as stun grenades or

perhaps electric pulse that zaps fools. Another

thing that shines

about him is

he regularly (and bizarrely) performs moves such

as this as finishers.
